About CalaverasWatchdog.com
Frustrated Citizens and Business Owners
- We are a collective of under-represented Calaveras County business owners and citizens, from Murphys to Valley Springs, who have reached the limits of our tolerance with ineffective and conflicted Calaveras County government and we have banded together to create a responsible news reporting service.
Conflicts Beget Conflicts
- We are done tolerating Calaveras County-sanctioned and institutionalized conflicts of economic interests, cronyism and exclusionary collusion through the willful suppression of entrepreneurialism and innovation in favor of select support of legacy personalities, businesses, families, and industries through the advocacy of inexperienced and - we allege - inept individuals entrenched in a range of Calaveras County governmental, business bureau, and utilities leadership positions.
- Calaveras public corruption must end.
- We're here to report the news others are unwilling to address.
The Opaqueness Between Conflicted Government and Ineffective Business Bureaus
- Calaveras County is geographically the same size of Rhode Island with a population of approximately 46,605 (2025 U.S. Census Bureau estimate). There are multiple business bureaus with leadership and boards also serving as government officials.
- Our level of frustration with institutionalized intransigence and incompetence has reached its threshold.
- These business bureaus need to be purged of ineffective leadership, restaffed, and consolidated into financially viable and sustainable entities with a common mission to support existing and emerging innovative Calaveras businesses, as well as bring new businesses and monied tourists to Calaveras County.
- Institutionalized incompetence and cronyism must be removed from public office.
- Empty promises are not acceptable.
- The future of Calaveras County hinges on responsible news reporting.
- We need action - not empty words and promises - from our Calaveras County leaders!
