Alvarado-Gil Ignores Endemic Calaveras County Government Corruption in Her Senate District; Formal Allegation Filed with the California Attorney General’s Office

August 16, 2024 - Murphys, California - An allegation of Senator Marie Alvarado-Gil having conducted fraudulent fundraising activity was filed by Christopher Buttner, Publisher of Calaveras2024Election.com, on August 13, 2024, with the Office of the California Attorney General, alleging that State Senator (District 4) Marie Alvarado-Gil had been soliciting campaign donations up until August 8, 2024, for her 2026 re-election campaign under false pretenses as the Democratic incumbent.
Many cast their vote for Marie Alvarado-Gil in 2022 to represent their interests for the next four years, based upon then-candidate Alvarado-Gil’s stated political positions, as well as her registered party affiliation as a Democrat.
Concerning all 2026 re-election campaign contributions that Senator Marie Alvarado-Gil collected while still a Democrat, her misled donors have every right to claim that Alvarado-Gil solicited campaign donations under the false pretense of the party she would be representing in the 2026 election cycle; therefore any Democratic donor who gave Senator Marie Alvarado-Gil a campaign contribution while she was a Democrat would be quite justified, feeling betrayed and legitimately angered, resulting in a growing public, and increasingly vocal, demand for a return of their donation(s). This same logic and principle would equally apply if a Republican State Senator had just switched to the Democratic party in a similar manner as Alvarado-Gil has now done.
Since February 2023, Christopher Buttner’s Calaveras2024Election.com blog continues to address Calaveras County public corruption directly and unflinchingly to its source, the Calaveras County Board of Supervisors; evidence of which may be found in the Video section of Calaveras2024Election.com at: https://calaveras2024election.com/calaveras-corruption-1 and https://calaveras2024election.com/calaveras-corruption-2-1
Since March 2023, Senator Alvarado-Gil’s office ignored repeated requests for her engagement on community concerns of endemic local corruption by numerous Calaveras County elected officials within her Senate District, however she’s always found ample time to participate in the Frog Jump, in Sacramento on the Capitol grounds, annually promoting The Calaveras County Fair & Jumping Frog Jubilee and the tourism it generates in support of the aforementioned Calaveras County public corruption and alleged criminal misallocation of transient occupancy taxes.
One of these vexing concerns relates to elected and appointed members of the Calaveras County government providing protective cover for an adjudicated pedophile employed at a legacy public-facing hospitality business frequented by families with children.
That vexing concern correlates to the California Office of the Attorney General’s investigation of the Calaveras County District Attorney’s Office for abuse of discretion, covered extensively by Joe Rubin of the Sacramento Bee (https://www.sacbee.com/news/local/article277968368.html), concerning pedophile priest Father Michael Kelly who escaped justice and fled the United States as a fugitive from the law.
According to Calaveras2024Election.com Publisher, Christopher Buttner, “Senator Alvarado-Gil’s failure to act, ignoring repeated warnings of Calaveras County public corruption endangering public safety, stands in drastic contrast and hypocrisy to her having co-authored SB268 (making rape of an intentionally intoxicated woman a violent felony) and SB796 (making general threats against a school or place of worship a felony).”
Continuing, Mr. Buttner states, “Senator Alvarado-Gil’s hypocrisy is palpable by her statement, ‘I can take whatever heat is coming my way and fully recognize it comes with the territory of leaving a supermajority that operates like a mob,’ this, while the senator has continually disregarded repeated warnings of alleged endemic Calaveras County public corruption perpetuated by an allegedly criminal ‘mob’ of elected and appointed officials that has festered to such an extent since September 2023; having permitted a potentially dangerous adjudicated pedophile to flourish in the Calaveras County’s hospitality industry and reside in the Murphys community in the heart of Calaveras County’s principal revenue generating industry… tourism.”
